Ariane Kuskis first visited Mayne Island in April 2004 for an afternoon of ocean kayaking. Bald eagles were soaring through the sky, seals curiously following the kayak, and sea lions were barking loudly along our way. The deer were roaming and grazing along the roadside as we toured around the island.

On July 1st we left the city life behind in Vancouver, and with "Pooch" the resident labrador retriever, moved over to Mayne Island to start a new venture.

July 22, our first guests arrived after three weeks of preparation, renovation and decoration to create a comfortable, nautical themed guest accommodation.

With over 20 years of hospitality and tourism industry operations experience, I hope to provide excellence in service, hospitality and comfort to all guests with our hospitality concept. Having travelled worldwide for business and pleasure, I have stayed in many accommodations and have focussed on the creating comfort, and a relaxing atmosphere for our guests.

On the grounds we have several families of deer visiting each day including a mother with twin fawns. The hummimgbirds nest in the Christmas trees out front, and are hovering around the feeders throughout the day. There are many types of birds visiting the feeders daily, and I have tried to create a natural environment for the wildlife to continue visiting.

beauty and diversity that brought us to the island, and to make this "Your Home Away From Home".

During the summer season, Ariane's mother Karin partakes in managing the bed & breakfast. There is always a good story or poem to hear.
