George C. Reifel Bird Sanctuary - Located on the mainland, this 850-acre sanctuary on Delta's Westham Island, 10 km west of Ladner, is a resting place for thousands of migratory birds on their way south to warmer places in fall and their way back in spring. With 3 km of hiking trails and a nature house, there is much to see and hear all year round. More than 1.5 million birds pass through here annually and 240 species have been spotted.
